Welcome everyone to pontos fathom hobbies this is our setup of cthulhu death may die season one we're going to be doing blasphemous alchemy season one episode one says quickly here what's worse than cultists cultists who set the place on fire another night and another damn ritual to summon an elder god if we blow up their labs we can cause a lot of trouble for whatever it is they've they're summoning so we'll walk through the components here we do have a unboxing of cthulhu death may die video i've got a massive figure miniature priming i primed all the all the miniatures for both the main box game the season two death may die season two black goat and for yog sothoth and i also have just uploaded a miniature painting video where we've painted the miniatures just for this play through so i've just gotten the final painting table top ready for this our our great old one will be cthulhu so we've got cthulhu and blasphemous alchemy season one and as you can see if you want to do a check out of these minis and the painting you can check out that painting video in the links below also keeping the hp lovecraft handy maybe you can do some readings from this during the different turns if you want to skip the setup turn one is at the end of the video up in the corner so you can jump right to turn one otherwise you can walk through the rulebook and the setup with me also a quick plug for pontus fathom press three if you love lovecraft these are three books from the tattoo journals out of lovecraft's providence volumes one two and three volume one genealogy of cthulhu a mad tour of the intersection of revisionist history with cthulhu legends from lovecraft asking the question if cthulhu and lovecraftian horror is actually real psychoanalysis of real yeah we all know the lovecraft's use of cthulian script and references to the necronoc necronomicon here we've got the necronomicon fragment translated and analyzed various components of that text and other yog-sothothery and then finally the archaeology of yog-sothoth this looks to the text but on a weird virulent and cosmic radio signal level perhaps leading us like bread crumbs to the witch house to azathoth himself check these links up below really help to support the channel okay let's get on to the setup so first off we will go take a look at the rules so walking through the rulebook i think it's a great rule book i got the inventory like i said i did the unboxing video

We can go through that we are using blasphemous alchemy and cthulhu so we've got cthulhu here ready to go we also have the fire vampires and the biake so we're going to kethonian so we will reveal the i believe this is called the story card this giant story card the storyboard so let's stick the storyboard here to the side the storyboard can go here and i think from there we will use this token to mark the turn and we'll have cthulhu positioned here as we were talking about the minis we we will also take a look at both the minions of cthulhu who happen to be the cultists and the star spawns it's a star spawn and place them here and just place him here for now we also have the episode minions or the episode monsters let's call them so i've copied those kind of the painting style from the box art so we will put these here just for placeholders okay so let's go to the next setup which would be the blossom is alchemy card which gives us some instructions on what to play it also gives us the map so let's place the rule book aside for now for the moment and we will build out the map so first of all we have the entrance which i believe is like this or the back room i suppose then we have this long hallway 8a make sure that's all on camera yes it is we have the bottom lab sort of like a storage area here we've got so all of these cards have got the numbering so you can just find them and look them up here so this is 9a 9a we will put this way and then this one is 7a again we've got some labs set up here and then finally we'll have this long staircase here 4a and then this room down below okay so that's the setup of the one floor and then we'll set up the other floor we have tokens here second floor setup as well we have this 3a piece connecting to 11b and then we have 5a connecting to both of those so those boards are set up and then we can go put our tokens into these rooms so in our cultists so first of all we've got the starting place of our our investigators our adventurers our investigators start here we can also look at the lab tokens on the various rooms so let's place the lab tokens here here here here and here lab tokens there's two stairway tokens so this is how you get between the levels so take the stairs and the stairs lead us to here and then there is also three gate tokens that we have to place so the red gate token is here the blue gate token is here and the yellow gate token is at the end of here and then finally the cultists so you can see the locations of cultists so we can put two cultists here we can put a cultist here another cultist here a cultist in the hallway and occultist here and that that's that we also have a fire vampire here and we have a biake here so that sets up our board leave this here for now i also have some fire tokens we can put those up i'll get those in a second so here's six fire tokens i'll just leave them here for now okay so next we have our cthulhu stage cards so we've got stage one two three and final stage you can place those on the storyboard we have mythos cards from both the both the season and from the mythos cards from the great old one so i will just have these here i have to i have to read up on how to process those i don't know if i shuffle them together but guys you can leave a comment for me i'm sure i'll figure it out by turn one it says mythos cards mythos cards drive the horror of each game you grow to hate them half the missiles cards in the game come from the episode box half of them come from the elder one box so i believe i just shuffle them together let me know if that's the case guys in the comments below okay next we have our investigators so our investigators are morgan and who's kind of indiana jones-like with his whip and his hat it's kind of cool and lizzy so let's put we've got their those figures also ready to go also painted up like their cards so they will we will put them morgan and lizzy will start in the starting space so that's that i will put their cards right here for easy reference also put the season one episode cards the discovery cards i guess i'll give these a shuffle and and we also have our patient medical file cards which i believe each of them get one and that is that we've got our tokens i will put the tokens here to get ready for their investigator cards and i think that's i think we're about ready to set up
